Hannah Memorial Run

The final Saturday in March saw a bunch of people in fancy dress gather outside a pub at 10am, which is probably not what the residents of Newton St Cyres are accustomed to seeing! Although it looked like it could be the start of some birthday merriment or stag do, the motivation for gathering was somewhat different- as members of CRN and Hannah's friends and family came together to celebrate two of Hannah's loves- running and dressing up.

Running can be whatever you want it to be and it's possible to get hung up on pace per mile or distance covered but I think Saturday proved what it should really be about- being out in beautiful surroundings with those who mean the most to you.

Much fun and laughter was had at the varying levels of costume dedication and the sun really shone, both figuratively and literally. We discussed our favourite memories of Hannah and a collection was also held for GoBeyond (https://www.gobeyond.org.uk/) on her behalf. RIP Hannah!

Congratulations!

Monday 24th March saw the latest cohort complete the beginners course. They have been put through their paces and battled the hills and winter weather during a 10-week training plan, culminating in a 5k run. It was great to see the square full of runners and the air full of the sounds of applause, as each graduate received their certificate and medal. Well done to every participant and to all the leaders who have helped put the course on. We will be hosting another course soon, please get in contact if you're interested
